Winnie

Winnie

Beautiful Winnie came into the care of MLHR as a nervous, underweight two year old. She was so nervous and very defensive resulting from how she had been treated before she came to us, and her body condition was quite poor. After almost a year in our care, Winnie matured and settled so much into trusting the humans around her. Winnie is still a sensitive girl if she feels threatened in any way, however, with quiet, calm and gentle handling she has learned to trust and we feel she will only continue to do so. She is very friendly now and such a good girl to catch, lead, load and for the farrier.  Winnie enjoys human contact now as long as you are willing to move at a pace she is comfortable with and she gets on well with other horses especially mares. Winnie adores carrots and attention and gets a lot of both from her current fosterer. Winnie has been living as part of a small mixed herd in foster for the past 6 months growing and developing into the strong and healthy lady she is today. Winnie stands at 13.3hh approx, her DOB is 2018 and she is still growing; we feel she will probably make 14hh or a little more.

Owing to Winnies history she will need a compassionate and experienced home where she will be given the time to build trust in her new humans, we feel Winnie will build strong bonds with humans and horses in the right environment and that she will really become a wonderful partner and friend. If you feel you may be able to offer her the home she truly deserves then do follow the link below to fill out the form. Homecheck and adoption fee will apply.
