*** WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGERY - Appeal for Information ***
Late on the evening of 2nd March 2017, we received a message about a poor pony opposite the graveyard on Church Road, Tyrrelstown, Mulhuddart that couldn’t stand up. MLHR volunteers got to the very sad scene and contacted a vet ASAP.
It was FAR TOO LATE to save her. A vet should have been contacted by the owner a long time ago.
There is NO EXCUSE for how this pony's life ended. We called this beautiful 7 year old mare Pippa.
Tied to a tree, it was clear she was desperate to escape. She had no food, shelter or freedom. They left her to starve and stressed to the point she had severe HEART FAILURE. To add insult to injury, the indoor rug she was wearing made the discomfort even worse. Soaking wet and cold.
Pippa deserved so much more than this.
Cruelty and negligence, left her suffering in appalling conditions in the last days of her life.
We want to find and prosecute this person. There ARE laws in place to prosecute against animal/horse cruelty.
We are appealing for any information about who owned this pony. Email us or contact Garda Tormey at Blanchardstown on 01 6667000.
If you see an animal suffering, don’t leave it TOO LATE. Contact MLHR, Dept of Agriculture, a local SPCA, Gardaí or council ASAP and don’t give up.
YOU are someone that can save a life. Don't ignore cruelty.
RIP Pippa. We are so sorry we couldn't save you.
