Join us as a volunteer and you’ll make a valuable contribution to our work and know you’re making a big difference to the lives of horses and ponies in need.
We warmly welcome volunteers from the age of 16*, with opportunities to help at all levels - no experience is needed.
There are always basic daily chores that need to be done including mucking out and general yard duties.
More experienced volunteers will have opportunities to help out with grooming, desensitising, massage and turning out/bringing in.
We also need equestrians with experience in backing and schooling horses who could assist us with groundwork and training, and help us get horses ready for new homes.
Builders, Electricians, Painters and Decorators, Gardeners, Plumbers, Drivers, Odd-jobs people - we would love your help, even on a one-off basis.
Our rescue centres are in rural Kildare and you will you need your own transport to get to us. Please don’t worry if you can’t - we need assistance with lots of things - from bag packing to reporting horses and lots more.
You might only have a couple of hours a week to spare, but a chat with one of our volunteers may reveal something small you can do to make a big difference to us.
Please note that for the safety of all of animals, we do not allow dogs or other pets.
*Children under the age of 16 are allowed to help with adult supervision.
