On Monday, 20th June 2016, we got a message about a young pony in Fonthill (Clonburris Little), Clondalkin with a blue rope as a head collar, that was starting to cut into her head.
We went to find her that evening and after much searching, we saw her. Her eyes were full of fluid/pus and she was very underweight. We couldn't catch her to remove the blue rope. We returned the next day and managed to catch her, clean her eyes and remove the rope. She is covered in scrapes and very underweight.
She is now at our rescue centre, where a vet will see her and we will begin bringing her back to health. If you would like to contribute towards her recover, please see options below. Thank you
We have highlighted the ongoing issues of horses being dumped in this field with South Dublin County Council, and will be meeting with them soon to discuss. This is the same field where so many horses have died of starvation over the winters, horses with embedded head collars (Gerry), a dead goat amongst other incidents.
If you have any information about who owns this pony and left her in this condition, please contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 01 666 7700.
