Little Jay is a blind cob pony, who has recovered from his ordeal and now enjoying life with his favourite companion, Elliot. We would like to rehome both ponies together, so if you would like to offer them a home, get in touch.
In July 2016, we got a message from a young lad who bought this pony out of a yard in Adamstown, Dublin. He contacted us when he realised there was something seriously wrong with him.
Jason is blind and has a serious infection in his groin, he is underweight, has scrapes and cuts which have lead to swelling all over his body, is sunburnt and his skin is like cardboard and is coming off in pieces due to eating ragwort, as he was starving.
Jason sadly had to have one of his eyes removed, which was done by our friends at UCD Veterinary Hospital. He was able to have his pal Elliot with him for the entire time he was there and during the travel to and from UCD.
He is on treatment for his skin condition, being kept out of the sunlight due to the sensitivity, is on aloe vera to help his skin heal, as well as medication for his eyes and liver.
