There are always the rescue stories that never leave you, those desperate nights and often weeks before hand spent trying to save a life. Exhausting every avenue possible to secure a horse to safety and feeling quite powerless at times.
Ken was one of the most traumatised animals we have ever rescued. From confined in a stable for probably quite a long time, to running terrified on waste ground, to becoming caught in fencing.
He suffered immensely at the hands of humans. Wining his trust was no easy task and even today he is still very weary of people he does not know well. He has one of the kindest eyes we have ever seen in any horse. He's is a real gent, kind and caring. He often shows great care with the youngsters in the herd and many would often look to him for a friend.
