MLHR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted, neglected and abused equines, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs, cats and...well that’s our list so far anyway but we never say never! We believe that all animals deserve kindness, compassion and our deepest respect. We’ve created a safe haven for our rescued friends at our three farms where we make sure that each and every one of them has a life worth living.
Mission Statement
Our mission on the island of Ireland is to save as many animal as we can, to educate the humans who own them and to work with law enforcement agencies, animal welfare bodies and members of the public to achieve this. We hope that, through this, Ireland can become a world leader in the area of animal health and welfare, a country that respects and cherishes the lives of those who share our world. We need to get to a place where our animal welfare laws are understood, respected and enforced by those entrusted with this task. We hope for a society with zero tolerance for animal neglect and abuse. We know we can get there.
To these ends we in MLHR will rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and rehome equines. We will rescue, rehabilitate and rehome any other animals in need who cross our paths and we will work cooperatively with government, law enforcement, non-governmental animal welfare bodies, the private sector and members of the public to achieve our goals.

Covid Statement
While many things seem to have come to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of animals needing our urgent care and attention has only grown. While we are still doing all we can to help these animals we have had to make some changes to how we operate. We have temporarily closed our farms to visitors, we have stopped our street collections and bag packing days in Dublin and Cork, and our farms are being run by a minimal number of staff and volunteers. Please discuss any Covid concerns prior to offering to foster or adopt. At all times our work continues in full compliance with HSE and government guidelines. Thank you for your continued support of MLHR.
