MLHR Fundraising Policy
Introduction
In all our fundraising efforts, by whatever method, we will demonstrate our respect for our donors and the members of the public from who we raise funds.
We will at all times conduct ourselves with honesty and integrity, representing the ethos and beliefs of My Lovely Horse Rescue.
We will always act in a transparent and accountable manner and never bring the organisation into disrepute.
The funds we raise, will be allocated to the purposes for which we raised them.
Above all, we will always represent the compassion, kindness and gratitude of our organisation and ensure that the funds we raise come from sources that are in line with our aims and objectives.
As MLHR we raise funds in a number of different ways:
Street Cash Collections:
Fundraising Events held by MLHR

As MLHR we raise funds in a number of different ways:
- Street cash collections;
- Bag packing in supermarkets;
- Funding proposals to the state and private individuals/companies;
- Digital fundraising appeals through the platforms of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our website;
- Fundraising events held by MLHR;
- Fundraising events held by our supporters;
- Other
Street Cash Collections:
- No collectors under 14 years of age are permitted unless accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
- Any animals that participate in street collections are looked after with no compromise to their health, safety and general well-being.
- All volunteers are clearly identified through their clothing as MLHR volunteers or staff;
- Buckets are clearly branded in MLHR branding and are sealed until handover;
- Permission is sought from relevant authorities;
- The collection is held with proper concern for the health and safety of volunteers and staff;
- All monies collected are counted and the total is recorded;
- The money is kept in a secure environment and is then transferred into the MLHR bank account as soon as is feasible;
- A record is kept of the source of this money and when it is deposited the collection will be referenced;
- Permission to pack bags in supermarkets is always sought;
- No collectors under 14 years of age permitted to collect;
- All volunteers clearly identified through their clothing as MLHR volunteers or staff;

- All monies collected are counted and the total is recorded;
- The money is kept in a secure environment and is then transferred into the MLHR bank account as soon as is feasible;
- A record is kept of the source of this money and when deposited the event will be referenced;
- The Fundraising Committee of MLHR is responsible for the preparation and submission of all fundraising proposals.
- All annual reports (including financial) are made available to those who prepare funding proposals;
- The Board shall have oversight of the funding proposals;
- Any money raised through such proposals will be earmarked and spent for the activities and products we submitted in our proposal;
- The money will be deposited into our bank account and referenced to the institution or individual who gave it to us;
- MLHR has regular appeals for funds, using our Facebook, Instagram, Website, Twitter and other platforms;
- We display clearly on all our digital platforms, and in all our fundraising appeals that we are a Registered Charity – and we ensure our Charity number is displayed prominently;
- We ensure at all times that such appeals adhere to our policy on GDPR;
- Where photographs are used, we ensure we have permission for such photographs and from the people who might appear in the photographs;
- We adhere at all time in our digital fundraising to the content of our online policy with respect to language usage and discrimination;
- We only use digital contact details for fundraising, where explicit permission has been given to us to do so;
- The money raised through these fundraising appeals is donated to us through various platforms: PayPal; Bank Account; GoFundMe and others;
- All the information collected here from donors is covered by our GDPR policy;
- We will require that the money deposited by members of the public is referenced to the particular appeal;
Fundraising Events held by MLHR
- From time to time MLHR holds events of different types in order to raise funds;
- We ensure that at all times our Health and Safety Policy is adhered to during these events;
- If a license or permission is required for the holding of the event, we apply for it;
- When we participate in events organised by other individuals or entities, we ensure that the event is taking place with full permission;
- Any animals that appear at any event organised by MLHR is fully protected in terms of its health, safety and general well-being;
- Any information we collect at these events we manage in terms of our GDPR policy.
- Any money raised during these events is counted, kept in a secure place and banked as soon as this is feasible. The deposit will be referenced with the name of the event.
